I have hands-on experience with a range of manufacturing tools through research, coursework, and robotics projects. I am proficient with manual machining equipment including lathes, mills, drill presses, CNC mills, and various hand tools, and have used these tools to fabricate precise mechanical components. I also have extensive experience with 3D printing for rapid prototyping and design iteration, which has strengthened my understanding of machining processes, tolerancing, and how design decisions translate to real-world manufacturing outcomes.
Hammer
For my manufacturing class, I fabricated a I hammer using a combination of manual and CNC machining processes. The project involved turning components on a manual lathe, milling critical features on a manual mill, and using a CNC mill to engrave initials on the head of the hammer. Through this process, I developed a stronger understanding of machining workflows, tool selection, fixturing, and the relationship between design intent and manufacturable geometry.
